License is invalid

I have tried to install TigerGraph on my computer to learn GSQL. I was trying to follow that instructions Get Started with Docker :: TigerGraph DB

In step 5 when I did:

gsql ALTER PASSWORD tigergraph

I got a message:

License is invalid.

Please contact support@tigergraph.com

I’ve contacted with support and no replay. I am a teacher and I want just learn and prepare a GSQL demo for my students. Please help me.

Hi @domel ,

Thank you for your interest in TigerGraph! Would it be find for you to use TigerGraph Cloud instead? Currently, In TigerGraph Cloud, you should be eligible for 1 free cluster for each organization: https://tgcloud.io/

You do not have to deal with entering a license in TigerGraph Cloud.

Hi Jim,

Yes, but TigerGraph Cloud is not the best option for me. I would like to have it locally. TigerGraph Cloud is slow (especially since I have a slow Internet connection).

Hi @domel,

If you want to have a free license for TigerGraph docker version, you can request it here from the “Request Free Dev License” tab: https://dl.tigergraph.com/

Once you get the license, you can do the command seen here to set the license: Guide to management with gadmin :: TigerGraph DB
